11-3's ( 2 )   Revesby; Workers ( 0 )

A closely contested game, with both sides desperate for a victory. We came to play today and the motivation of our players was very pleasing, as was our continuing improvement in our passing and positioning. The almost gale force winds meant that the team which ran with the wind had a distinct advantage, and as Workers "B" were kept scoreless in the first half running with the wind, we knew that we could finish the match strongly and so it proved, with Jason Aleong scoring soon after halftime. We then managed to score our second goal after some great lead up work from Nicole Cooper and Player of the Match Ashley Moroney, who was outstanding and Jason then rounded off a good team goal with a very well taken goal. After we got our second goal we defended well and never really allowed Workers "B" any opportunites in front of goal. Also good performances from Brendan Ross, who allowed nothing down the left side of defence and Laura Crismale and James Thompson, who were solid in defence. Special mention to Kisani Whyms, who captained the side to victory. All in all, a good team performance and a win which gives the team more confidence. It says a lot about the team, that today was our first clean sheet (first time we have held the oppositon scoreless) all season, so thats a great effort in itself. Our next game is a very difficult one, competition leaders Padstow United. Im sure we all remember what happened when we played them last time, and this week is a chance to show them that we are a better team now. Well done guys - enjoy the win you deserved it.
