10-1A ( 4 ) Yagoona ( 1 )
Yagoona had improved a lot since last year but that didnt stop Mason from scoring an early goal in the first few minutes. Our backline (Angus, Johnathon, James, Stavros & Abraham), was tight again today. They tried very hard not to let anything get past them and cleared the ball well. Stephen had a turn in goals in the first half and was ready whenever the ball looked like coming his way. A good pass from Josh to Maceon (MG) gave us our 2nd goal. In the midfield Tottie hasselled the opposition to win the ball from them and made some great passes. Everyone could hear Angus encouraging his team mates which was really great to see. We went out fired up but seemed to lose a bit of passion towards the end of the first half. Yagoona came out with guns blazing in the second half and seemed a lot stronger, at time they were all over us. Ryan, Mason, MG & Liam were trying really hard to take the advantage which finally paid off with another goal. Stavros played in goals in the second half where Yagoona were making him work very hard to save some close shots until they finally popped one in. After some frustrating moments by Panania, Mason made a great run up the field fending off 3 Yagoona players to give us our 4th goal of the match and finsihing the game with a 4-1 win. Well done to all the boys today, you need to remember to stay focused for the whole game. It was good to hear plenty of talking today and I think we will need to be on our toes for our next match against Yagoona. Goals - Mason 2, Maceon (MG) - 2. Happy Birthday Josh Bull!
