Improved play from us saw a much closer game than against United. We did not do it the whole game but we knocked the ball around better than last game, which opened up their defence and created a few chances for us. We must still look and call for the ball as we missed plenty of easy options. We had players wide, free and unmarked but chose the riskier pass through the centre. There is nothing wrong with going for the long clearance or the sideline when threatened in numbers, but if we all talk AND listen on the field we can hang on to the ball and really stretch the opposition. We also need to position ourselves to give the player on the ball options, if we feed to the corner and all run to the middle, the player over the ball should have someone to tap back to for the cross. The player over the ball should always get at least 3 directions to pass and that get only be provided by his teammates moving when they do not have the ball. Keiran scored off a lovely through ball from Jarad put him in just the right position to tap it around their keeper. Keep improving and the rematch in the second round will be a cracker. Best on ground this week goes to Brad with solid performances from Reece and Cameron.
