All Age Ladies 1 ( 2 ) Bankstown Dragons ( 2 )
On a beautiful sunny afternoon we had the bare 11 show up today and play on a ground that a seven year old would have put divots in, it was wet. The game was always going to have a little feeling in it with the results so far this year at 1 each. We started the game without our regular goalie, sweeper, centre half, midfielder and 2nd striker. This puts a strain on the resources when we have players out of position, injured and full of the flu to start. We had all the early running and the arm wrestle unfolding in front of us was only going to get harder as the game went on with no reserves for interchange. They managed to slip one soft one through and the score remained at 1 nil at half time. In the second half Bec H took a long throw which Deb flick onto Shahni for the finish and before they knew it the score was 1 - 1. They slipped another soft in and looked in the box seat until Bec H and Shahni combined well again and put away a classy goal to equalise. We were unlucky not to score the winner on a few occasions today but we ensured our place in the semis. Gail played a beauty along with Rochelle and Bec W who tried all game. Bronwyn soldiered on with the flu and Elyse with her injured knee found a new position down the right hand side. (Don't blush Lou you enjoyed the room to move - didn't you). Jill giggled a lot and Melissa had a cracker of a game controlling the backline all day, great game Mel. Well done all - we should get to training and practice as a team for the semis.
