Lets start with all the good stuff. We played great although we didn't get the result we wanted. In the first half we defended our hearts out as Padstow threw nearly everything they had at us. The back line and midfield did us proud as they never ever gave up. The ball rarely got forward and so our wings and forwards didn't get to do a lot. Half time came - well almost due to a false start and then it did. In the second half we played well and had more opportunities to move the ball forward and saw a lot more of their end of the field. For 90% of the game we went out and kept pressure on their key players to stop them scoring but the couple of times we stood back they scored. Our keeper Gina Mavridis had a stand out game and must have saved 20 goals through her efforts. It was an outstanding effort from our team and good to see a couple of our players sidelined through injury and illness back on the park. Pauline Kazanis had a great game in the backs as did Karina Guild, Nicky Zibens also had a great captain's game in the midfield. Well done everyone!!
