Sunday saw us play a wash-out game against the Spears team who are on top of the ladder. Once again we found ourselves without reserves and some kids playing their third game in three days. Great games were played by Lachlan Cole, James Hurley, Lachlan Black, and Harry Fuelling who were all given plenty to do by the spears strikers. Up front Adam Rae, Benji Hoppitt and Mitchell Driver were combining well and showed their passing skills as they made plenty of long runs down field, only to be denied a goal. Lochlan Robertson, Ethan Macky, Bradley Sawyer and Brandon Peters were all running everywhere cutting off their mid fielders and repelling their attack. Once again, you couldn't fault the effort by our kids who try their hearts out every week, but today couldn't contain a well drilled spears team, who went on to score 2 goals in each half and win 4 nil. A special mention goes to the Spears "coach" who screamed all game at his kids and drove everyone on the sideline mad. He would dead-set give a "bex" a headache. Thanks for a big effort kids.
