11-2's ( 1 )  Bankstown; Dragons ( 0 )
Not quite as good an effort as last week, but still very good against an aggressive team with several skillful players. Using our passing skills we dominated the first half but simply could not put the ball into the net. Shots on goal were into double figures, but the ball over the line just wouldn't come. The second half began in the same manner, but this time, Dragons also found ways through our defence to also have our keeper touching the ball. They were able to do this because we got over confident and forgot about our positions and also tried to beat too many players ourselves before trying to pass to team mates. The result of this is always loss of possession and if it wasn't once again the speed of Michael Fraser-Gray and the positioning of Enver in goals, the result could easily have gone the other way. Our winner came minutes from time when a good through ball sent our forwards away. It still took us several shots, but finally Haley Pattison was able to put the ball into the net. Cameron Ruffio took out our player of the match award today showing good skills in mid-field attack and creating plenty of space for others. A big thank you to all who helped out with the field duty. A particularly big thank you to Bruce on the BBQ and Kate in the canteen for doing very extended shifts. BBQ your place this week Bruce?
