All Age Ladies 1A ( 2 ) Panania RSL ( 3 )
A very entertaining game to watch with neither team taking a backward step. The A's scored first from an own goal when a miss timed kick cleared the B's Keeper to find the net. The B's struck back with a good passing move that created a free player and gave Bec little chance in goals. The second for the A's game from a brilliant first touch infield from Chris who was running out on the left. The ball took 4 defenders out of the play to land at Nat's feet with the keeper off her line. Nat does not usuallly miss those. The B's equalised just before halftime and we went to the break at 2-2. The second half was a dour struggle with both sides trying everything in attack and some strong challenges for the ball and position. The B's broke the deadlock with about 15 to go with an excellent goal from their number 10 that beat Bec's outstretched hand. The committee members watching from the neutral side of the park were tipping a draw but the B's held out to win 3-2. The A's put in 100% effort for 90 minutes and can hold their heads high for their performance today. Well done ladies from both teams.
