(ASSOC. CUP GRAND FINAL) On Saturday we played Padstow United at Birrong Park for the Association Cup. Two weeks ago we drew 2 all with them in a very good contest, so we thought that we were in for a chance of victory today. Right from the outset, I could see that we were not switched on and we struggled to contain Padstow who scored two goals in each half, to win the match 4 nil. A couple of refereeing decisions left me baffled, like when the ref called a Padstow striker offside, which made our defenders stop, only to let play continue resulting in a goal. We had 5 back up from school finals the day before, which obviously resulted in some very tired boys. I was still very pleased with the effort and sportsmanship shown by my team and they were all excited to receive their runners up medallions. Looking forward to next season.
