(ASSOC. CUP GRAND FINAL) Football is an ironic game, our last game of the year is against the team that we played in the very first game of the year. In the first game a Spears player got no card for a deliberate handball in the box and we got an indirect free kick. In the last game, our defender gets a red card and Spears are awarded a spot kick, the correct decision for the offence. The team put up a sterling effort in attack and kept pressing for the elusive equaliser after we went down to 10 men. But in the end the pressure told on our back three and Spears scored a second just before time to put the game out of reach. It was a game with a lot of "only if" and unfortunately a 0-2 result does not do justice to how close the game was. Congratulations to all the players involved for an entertaining game. Our pick for player of the match is Reece. Chris is already practicing for cricket, enjoy the off season, will be in touch with everyone about presentations, picnics and going to Sydney FC game.
