2003 Season Match Reports

Only a win or a score draw from this game would have got us through to the semis. We started really well with Sharon cleaning up a loose ball in the 6 yard box to get one up. It was not that we were playing badly, the same passing moves that have been a feature of our last few games were getting us into attacking positions but Workers defence was holding up. The ref was fairly lenient on the rough house tactics from Workers which did not help us. Mild, placid Chook got up and threaten a Workers' player after a particularly vicious tackle. Anyway, the season has come down to a couple of crucial decisions. Us not getting a spot kick for a nasty tackle in the box in the first game against Greenacre. The stupid ref who allowed the goal against Easts after the keeper was taken out in backplay. And being pulled up for offside in the first game against Workers when there was another player keeping everyone on side. What can I say, maybe next year, but you are definitely the best looking team in the comp and the only team that plays as a team, not relying on one or two players to do all the work. I hardly sold anything in the canteen until Mel took over and then there was a real rush, I wonder why?
